Sports Awards are a big thing across the world with each sport having its own version of an Oscar or a Grammy for the outstanding achievements of sportsmen and women in their particular field. Mixed Martial Arts is no different having several of these one of which being the 'Bazzie Awards". Named after the shows host and MMA legend Bas Rutten, the 'Bazzie' Awards have been handed out annually since 2008 on the Inside MMA show which is mixed martial arts' longest running and only independent US weekly television news show on which Kenny Rice and four-time world champion Bas Rutten interview the sports top names and break down highlights from the world's biggest fights while Ron Kruck provides on-site coverage from major events and in-depth reporting on the most interesting stories in the sport. The winners of 'Bazzies' for fighters of the year were UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis and UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, while "Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez at UFC 166" was named fight of the year. The evening's main card airs on NBCSN following preliminary bouts that stream on World Series of Fighting's official website, WSOF.com. Additionally, World Series of Fighting partner Pancrase, a Tokyo-based promotion with 20 years of experience, was also honored at the 2013 Bazzie Awards. Takuya Eizumi's slick rolling armbar finish of Teppei Masuda was named the 2013 Bazzie Awards' "Submission of the Year."
