Fighters Blog- Mike the Warrior Wilkinson

Fightstore Pro friends, fans and customers, we have something a little special to bring to you guys. We will be bringing you a blog every fortnight from English UFC Fighter, Mike the warrior Wilkinson. Mike is a 26 year old featherweight from Leigh in Wigan. He has an 8-1 record (1-1 UFC) Mike was featured in TUF the smashes but sadly had to pull out with injury after winning his first fight convincingly. Mike has been out of action once more with injury and had to pull out of his fight last October with another highly touted prospect Jimmy Hettes. We're very excited to see this exciting beast of the cage back in action, below Mike tells us what he's been up to on his road back to the octagon. "I’ve been off the radar since my wrist surgery; it’s been three months since I had the operation. My wrist was in a cast for four weeks and then a splint for two weeks. During the first two weeks I didn't do much other than lay on the couch watching television and fighting. After the second week I got back into the gym, starting with little movements that didn't affect my wrist’s recovery. Day by day I was increasing my movements and began to add cardio to my routine, using the watt bike doing interval sprints 10x2 min with a 30 second rest. These last two weeks I have upped the bike sprints to 5x5 min with a 30 second rest. Since I have been training alone I have been able to pick up new skills, constantly repeat them and build them into my style which I can’t wait to show you all. Today was my first day back grappling with my coach Daren Morris which went really well and my wrist feels much stronger. Now I just need to wait for the all clear to start punching then I’m BACK and looking to hopefully fight in October. I believe all things in life happen for a reason, this last year has been one tough test for me but has made me a better person and fighter. I can’t wait to step back into that Octagon! I will be doing a little blog every two weeks, so stay tuned." Like the look of the gear Mike's wearing?
